INEOS Community Notification

Incident Details: INEOS Styrolution is notifying the community as a proactive precaution that hourly benzene emissions on-site have been detected above 0.021 parts-per million (67.5ug/m3). Additional notifications may occur, however there is no expected impact on the community. Tank 8 degassing activities have begun as of Oct 2nd. The area is being thoroughly monitored and while there are no active leaks, environmental modelling has predicted that increased emissions are possible. The benzene removal plan and modelling results have been communicated with the community and regulators and have been approved to proceed despite potential exceedances that may occur.
