Incident Details: This is Diamond Petrochemicals Canada Corporation. Our facility is in the process of shutting down due to an unplanned process upset in one of our units. Neighbours may notice periods of increased flaring and an elevation in noise as a result. Flares are important safety devices that safely burn excess hydrocarbon gases that cannot be recovered or recycled. Flare systems must meet strict environmental controls. When you see flaring, please be assured that flares play a key role in keeping our facility running safely. We strive to minimize flaring, keeping it to times necessary for our continued safe operation. There is no community action required at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding while we complete this necessary maintenance work.
