Incident Details: This is a message from the Shell Manufacturing Centre in Corunna for Monday, September 22nd. Starting later this morning, we are expecting some increased flaring and the potential for increased noise at site as we move into a period of planned maintenance. At this time, there is no action required from the community as a result of these activities. It is important to note the flare system is a process safety device at the refinery and is a normal and vital part of unit shutdown and start-up activities. All safety precautions and standard regulatory protocols are being followed. This flaring is expected to occur over the next 48 hours. SAC and Mutual Aid notification codes have been issued and will be updated as needed. We will also keep this line updated if new information becomes available.
