EP Day Returns for its 14th Year!

June 20, 2025/By: Bluewater Association for Safety, Environment, and Sustainability

After a five-year hiatus, Emergency Preparedness (EP) Day returned on Saturday, May 10 at Lambton College – and what a day it was!

Organized by BASES Emergency Preparedness and a dedicated planning committee, the event welcomed over 1,000 attendees for a fun, informative, and engaging day bringing together community members, emergency response teams, industry, and local safety partners.

This year marked a fresh chapter for EP Day, with several changes to the format. The event moved to a weekend, opened to the general public, and relocated to Lambton College. The community response was overwhelmingly positive, with strong attendance and excellent engagement throughout the day.

More than 35 exhibitors took part in the event, representing a wide range of emergency services, health and safety organizations, and industrial companies. Attendees had the chance to visit booths, participate in interactive demos, and collect stamps in their “EP Day Passport” for a chance to win prizes. A series of short workshops took place in the lecture hall, covering topics such as home emergency planning, first aid basics, pet preparedness, and medication safety.

The Kids’ Fun Zone was a big hit with families, featuring inflatables, face painting, temporary tattoos, and visits from well-known mascots including Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, and Sparky the Fire Dog. The Rotary Club of Sarnia also hosted a charity BBQ, with proceeds going toward local initiatives.

We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors, and generous donors whose contributions made the event possible. A special thank you goes out to the past organizers, whose years of leadership laid the foundation for the success of EP Day today.

📅 Save the date – EP Day will return on Saturday, May 10, 2026!
