IEC facilitates Suncor Training at Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park

The Sarnia-Lambton Industrial Educational Cooperative’s move to its new home at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park has provided training opportunities for its member companies above and beyond the IEC’s core offerings.
With additional space located throughout the Park thanks to a number of conference rooms and board rooms available for rent, the IEC has the ability to accommodate training requests of virtually any capacity on-site, allowing for optimized instructor support and the IEC’s full repertoire of services nearby.
Recently, the IEC partnered with Suncor to facilitate a seven week stretch of high-volume, site specific training.
The IEC was able to provide administrative services in securing the training rooms, allowing for Suncor instructors to keep their training supplies and materials in one location, while also offering trainees easy access to lunch services provided by the Research Park cafeteria. Locating the training at the Research Park also enabled physical distancing practices to be put in place while still serving the high-volume of training required.
An additional benefit of locating training in such close proximity to the IEC’s offices is the ability for students to easily access other core IEC training services, such as Basic Safety Orientation, Fit Testing, Confined Space Entry, and Working At Heights.
To inquire about additional site-specific training capabilities that can be facilitated through the IEC and the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park, please contact the IEC at 519-383-1222.
